Tsunami warning for Chennai and other sea side districts of Tamilnadu!!
Today (11th April 2012) around 2 PM a mild earth quack has been felt in some places of Tamilnadu, including Madurai, Salem, Tuticorin, Chennai etc., In this situation, the Tsunami announcement has been made saying, at around 5 O'clock, Tsunami may attack the sea side of Tamilnadu including Chennai. At the time of earthquake, the houses have got vibration so the people came out off their house with fear.
The measurement of this earthquake has been scaled as 8.7 Richter at Indonesia and 6.5 Richter at Chennai. In the Chennai areas, Mandhaiveli, Mylapore, Santhome, aalwarpet and Egmore, the earthquake has been felt. As the earthquake was felt also in the Secretariat of Tamilnadu, the Secretariat employees came out of the building. This earthquake has been felt in all the sea side districts also.
There are totally 28 countries including India which have been given the Tsunami warning.
As a succession of this first Earth Quake at 2.05 pm, there was a second Earth Quake at 2.40 pm in Chennai. It is said that After-Shocks of Earth Quake may occur even after a day. Indonesia has experienced Earth Quake for a total of 3 times. For the first time it was measured as 8.7 Richter, the second time it was measured as 8.3 Richter and for the third time it was measured as 8.1 Richter. As the waves of the Indonesian sea shore are usual (1 feet high), Tsunami warning has been withdrawn. Even though the warning is withdrawn, because the second Earth Quake as an After-Shock and also because of the past Impact of Tsunami in 2004, the panic is still prevailing all over the sea side areas. The Traffic is also very critical in the sea side roads of various places.
The Global Research Department in United States has given Tsunami warning just now at 5.20 pm and so the safety arrangements are still prolonged in sea side places. It can be seen that the Television Telecast and Telephone / Mobile Communication is slightly disturbed.
