Thoothukudi District - Kula Sekaran Pattinam - Festival started with Flag hoistingThe annual festival of Gnana Moortheeshwarar Uanurai Mutharamman temple is world famous. After, Bangalore, Kulasekarn Pattinam is the most number of devotees do visit Mutharamman temple after passing fasting and celebrating with various get ups ( make ups ). So, this year's festival was initiated with flag hoisting.
Today morning ( 21 September 2017 ) early morning, a well decorated elephant made the procession reached the temple after crossing important streets of Kulasekaran Pattinaam - Thoothukudi District. Followed by that, Consecrated was conducted. Then the main event of this Kuasekaranpattinam Temple festival, namely flag hoisting was conducted. Then the flag post of Kulasekarapattinam Mutharamman Temple was anointed with turmeric, mapodi, sandal, kumkum, Vivoothi and other 16 number of materials. After that the godess was given Deeparathanai (Giving respect with light by authorised person known as Poojaari ).
After all these poojas, the devotees who had come to the temple after fasting were given yellow rope and thiru kaappu. In this flag hoisting, thousands of devotees took part. At the tenth day (30 september 2017 - Saturday ) of this festival of Muthaaramman temple, Mutharamman will make procession, and reach the sea shore and soora samharm wii be formed.
