Restrictions in Tiruchendur Temple due to Corona | COVID19

 As the Indian government and Tamilnadu Government have announced the unlock 4.0 all over the country, the following are the important restrictions to be followed by the devotees who are coming to the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple - Thoothukudi District.



Temple opening time : 5:30 Am

Closing time : 7:30 PM

Date of Lockdown started in Tiruchendur Sendhilandavar temple - 20 March 2020.

How many devotees can enter the temple now ( September 2020 ) - 2000 number of devotees

How many months Tiruchendur temple was in lockdown - 5 months

Who are all not allowed to enter the temple as per the announcement from the temple management on 01 September 2020:

  1. Devotees above 65 years of age
  2. Below 10 years
  3. Pregnant ladies
  4. High blood pressure
  5. Diabetes patients

Devotees Will be allowed to enter only in the main Sannadhi such as Shunmugar Sannadhi and 

Subramaniya Swamy Sannadhi.

Other Restrictions in Tiruchendur Temple are

  1. 6 feet social distance should be maintained in the temple while entering through free entry and 100 Rs entry.
  2. There are 13 stations inside the temple premises allocated for washing the hands of devotees using sanitizers.
  3. It is not allowed to bring Pooja materials, Abhishegam, Shunmugaarchanai and Golden Car.
  4. Donation of hair, Ear Piercing, Getting bath in the sea, Getting bath in Naazhi Kinaru are not allowed. Devotees are not allowed to stay in hotels / staying homes. Meal Donation provided by the temple will be given as parcel only.
  5. Procedures to enter Tiruchendur Murugan Temple in this Lockdown time:

    1. First, the devotees who have to enter the temple have to be seated in the place allocated for them opposite to the hair donating area at South Tollgate or at the auditorium nearby the North Tollgate.
    2. Then the devotees have to submit their identity card to get a token and payment slip.
    3. Devotees will be divided into groups containing 25 people in each group.
    4. A special squad is allocated to prevent the spread of pandemic disease.
    5. The loudspeaker will be on patrol announcing all the safety measures to be followed inside the temple.
